Cool and blustery today with localised flooding

It's a cool and blustery day everywhere, with showers and longer spells of rain spreading across the country.

Met Éireann say there will be heavy and thundery bursts in places and some localised flooding.

Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty mainly northerly winds.

Tonight will be cold and blustery with showers in western coastal counties, some heavy and possibly thundery. Mainly dry further east, with clear spells allowing temperatures to fall to 2 to 5 degrees here, 6 to 8 degrees in the west.

Friday will be a fresh and breezy day with sunny spells and scattered showers. It will turn cloudier in the west and southwest by evening. Top temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in a moderate to fresh northwest breeze, strong on coasts through the morning.

For the weekend it will remain cool and changeable but with good autumn sunshine at times.
