Who will hold the reins in new council?
The make-up of the new Westmeath County Council is to see eight seats occupied by Fianna Fáil members; five by Fine Gael; three by Sinn Féin; two by Labour and two by Independents.
For Fianna Fáil, it will be the party's first time in several years to hold the dominant role in the council chamber.
