SlimPossible girls raise €12,000

The five ladies who took part in the Bloomfield Leisure Club Mission SlimPossible charity event have raised €12,000.

That means they are all a success but Hillary Gaffney is the one whose efforts stand out most.

The management at Bloomfield House Hotel donated €5 for every pound lost by the contestants, and their combined total weight loss was 115 pounds (8.2 stone), which amounted to €575 donated by Bloomfield to the Midland’s Simon Community, the chosen charity of Hillary Gaffney.

Each of the Mission Slim Possible contestants also collected sponsorship for their charities.

The other participants were: Liz Tynan, Aware and TEAM; Siobhan Boyne, Blue September; Joanne Killian, the Injured Jockey’s Fund; and Lorraine Connolly, LARCC.

Personal trainers from Bloomfield Leisure Club encouraged and motivated each contestant over the 12 weeks, during which they had full use of all leisure facilities, food tips and a weekly weigh in.

The professional and qualified instructors provided advice and motivation along the way to help them achieve their goals: “We are delighted with the amount of weight the girls have lost and the support they have got locally is phenomenal, and, the huge amount of money raised for charity has made this a great success,” said Lisa Kenny, Bloomfield Leisure Club manager.
