Sarah Foster's 'Love Hate' kiss tale wins her radio gig

A stage kiss on the set of ‘Love/Hate’ – or at least her recounting of the tale – has won a young videographer from Mullingar a gig with RTÉ Radio 2

During a segment on stage kisses, Sarah Foster was asked on to Jennifer Zamparelli’s radio show last week to tell Jennifer and entertainment correspondent Lottie Ryan how she wound up having to kiss actor Killian Scott during a party scene in Love/Hate while doing work experience with RTÉ.

“After the call, RTÉ rang me back and asked me to become their midlands correspondent for Radio 2,” reveals Sarah, who is the ‘SJ’ in SJF Productions, a video making firm in Mullingar.

“They loved the way the chat went with Jennifer and Lottie, and that it was just like we were all friends.”

Sarah had the two presenters in stitches as she recalled how she was offered the opportunity to be an extra on this new drama of which no one had then yet heard.

The drama for Sarah came during a party scene set in the apartment of John Boy (Aidan Gillen).

“They were like: ‘You have to kiss ‘Tommy’ (Killian Scott),” Sarah explained, before going on to reveal that it had not been a pleasant experience as Scott had just had a cigarette.

During the radio interview, Jennifer was delighted to discover that she knew Sarah’s grandfather – Mick Foster of Foster and Allen, both of whom she met when they appeared on Republic of Telly.

“They’re absolute legends!” she told Sarah, who latterly has been working on the set of the film ‘The Last Duel’, which has some of Hollywood’s biggest names in its lineup – Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Jodie Comer.

“I was on the set for three weeks,” said Sarah, explaining that due to Covid the set was run differently to the way a set would normally be: “Everyone had to be part of a certain ‘bubble’,” she says.

Based at Ardmore Studios in Wicklow for the time she worked on the Ridley Scott-directed film, Sarah got to meet all the stars.

However, due to SJF production commitments she was able to devote just three weeks to the project.

Sarah, whose business is based in the Mullingar Enterprise centre on Bishopsgate Street, is due on Wednesday December 9 to file her first midlands report on the Jennifer Zamparelli show.

Catch the action from 10am to 1pm.
