The Blizzards are back and frontman Niall Breslin who coached last night’s Voice of Ireland winner, Michael Lawson, says the Mullingar five-piece plan to enjoy every moment of their return.
“We’ve been recording new material and getting back into things slowly.
“Being back in the studio is a massive buzz for us all. This time around we’re not putting any pressure on ourselves, we just want to enjoy it,” he told the Westmeath Examiner.
Recorded in Camden Recording Studios, and produced by Phil Magee, the first single is due to go to radio before summer.
With a secret gig planned ahead of Scottish dates that include Edinburgh’s Electric Circus in June, Bressie, Dec Murphy, Justin Ryan, Anthony Doran and Aidan Lynch are billed for the Indiependence Music and Arts Festival in July appearing alongside Editors, The Kooks, Bell XI and Ash.
The Blizzards new album is due out early next year.
Meanwhile, Bressie is also launching a beginners triathlon to take place in Mullingar, on July 9 .
Of last night’s Voice of Ireland’s win, Bressie who coached London native Michael Lawson who now calls County Monaghan home, Bressie said:
“People like Michael deserve to win because they are a natural talent and they don’t come along very often.”.
