Mullingar Parish to pilot new contactless payment system
As people become more adept at using cashless payments, Mullingar Parish is piloting new technology which will allow Mass-goers and visitors to the Cathedral of Christ the King to make donations to the Church.
Stand-alone, contactless card machines will be installed in a number of locations in the cathedral.
The new technology is simple to use: simply, tap and go. Donations on each machine are pre-set at €5 per tap.
“We are exploring alternative ways for parishioners to financially support our parish. We will review its efficiency and accessibility over a period of time,” a spokesperson for Mullingar Parish stated.
“Having used the machine, we would appreciate feedback from parishioners on the system. Thank you to all who continue to support our parish.”
