Mullingar Tidy Towns would like to applaud the wonderful TY students of CBS Coláiste Mhuire Mullingar and their teacher Mr Ciaran Farrell, who kindly volunteered with Mullingar Tidy Towns recently.
The lads lent us a hand and the work that was done was amazing. Mullingar Tidy Town’s horticulturist, Isolde Dingerkus, explained to the students the importance of biodiversity and the meaning of the plants that they had planted. They also learned the value of not letting litter destroy our beautiful town as they were made aware that litter is everyone's responsibility. They are a fantastic bunch of lads and the committee of Mullingar Tidy Towns would like to wish these lads well in their journey through life. The lads helped with litter picking, planting new flower beds, in which over 250 plants were planted. They also got down and dirty by weeding the flower beds along the canal.
In appreciation of this, Chairperson of Mullingar Tidy Towns Mr Bill Collentine, provided the hard working young men with pizzas.
With the announcement earlier this month regarding the annual SuperValu Tidy Towns competition fast approaching, Mullingar Tidy Towns would like to call on all schools, community groups and volunteers to reach out and lend a hand and show how wonderful our beautiful town is!
