Clonmellon farmers market celebrates its first birthday
Clonmellon Market celebrates its first birthday this month, and enters its second year with a promising future. The next one is this coming Sunday, July 18, and it continues on alternate Sundays, 11am-1.30pm, at the Old Market Square, Clonmellon (C15 DK6E).
Joan and Paula, on behalf of Clonmellon Community Council, thanked stallholders and customers for their support: “It is now one year since the market was set up in the middle of a global pandemic and at that time the committee had no idea how successful it was to become."
Starting in July 2020 with seven food producers and eight craft stalls, it now has 20 regular food producers and 12 craft stalls. The emphasis has always been on providing good quality artisan food and local, where possible. Anyone attending the first birthday market can enter a free raffle for hampers and prizes.
Food Producers include Starcrest Seafood Donegal, Loughpark Farm, Killua Food Venison, Organic for Health Fruit and Vegetables, Pat Dempsey Jams, Bellingham Blue Cheese, Sean Nua Farm, Keltic Kimchi Fermented Foods, Balliskeen Artisan Foods, Home Baking, La Castrilena Olive Oil, The Gluten Free Bakery, Wexford Strawberries, Milltown Family Meats, Evolve Foods, Coffee Perfection, Ciaras Candy, Backyard Bakery, Tom and Ollie Mediterranean Mezze Products
