Pilgrims will flock to Fore in May

Anthropologist Margaret Mead pronounced, ‘a small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.’

If ever there was a small group of thoughtful people ready to effect change, it’s the committee of the Pilgrim’s Trail and Tale.

It’s all in the mix; the group comprises Teresa Doyle, Jane O’Reilly, Brigid Corrigan, Ursula Meehan, Fr Michael Walsh, Michael and Grainne Conlon, Una D’Arcy, Mary Lynch, Maeve Corrigan, Verity Butterfield, Britta Stewart Dolan, Roisin Moran, Frank McDermott and Eileen Castle.

This group are developing an event for The Gathering on May 25 that will introduce to the world the hidden wayside crosses that encircle Fore.

The Pilgrim’s Trail and Tale is a looped walking route that will offer reflection, history, heritage and folklore, including the historian Michael Conlon’s account of each cross and the role it plays in Fore’s spiritual landscape.

Already the Facebook Page has people signing up for the day from all over the UK and from feedback, the committee believe this will be a super event for all the family to come and enjoy. So mark it in your diary.

The next committee meeting is tonight, Thursday 28 February, at 8pm.
