Increased vigilance needed when it comes to crime prevention
The public has been advised to be extra vigilant about crime prevention as the country opens up after 18 months of Covid-19 restrictions.
Speaking to the Westmeath Examiner, a local garda spokesperson said that there had been an increase in the number of crimes committed recently. With more and more people set to return to their places of work in the coming weeks the spokesperson urged the public to increase their vigilance when it comes to crime prevention.
“Things are starting to get back to normal, which is great to see, but there has been a rise in crime. We would ask people, especially coming into this time of year, to be extra vigilant. Lock doors etcetera and use a bit of common sense.”
