Ballynacargy Vintage Club Christmas Lights Tractor Run
Some 200 tractors turned up for the Christmas lights tractor run in support of 'Bryan's Belgian Blue Draw' last night.
The event was organised by Ballynacargy Vintage Club in support of nine-year-old Bryan Pendred, who is being treated at Crumlin hospital, and his family.
John Price of Ballynacargy Vintage Club said members had heard about the efforts the local community had made for Bryan and they decided to lend their support.
"All donations on the night going to the fund to help Bryan's recovery from serious illness," said John.
"We have up on 200 tractors here, and a postbox for letters the children are putting their 'get well soon' messages to Bryan in.
"I'd like to thank the committee for organising this, and to thank the people who came from far and wide with tractors fully lit up, and I'd like to thank Santy for turning up - he came the whole way from the North Pole to be with us and the kids are delighted to have seen him."
Cllr Johnnie Penrose said it was a great evening in Ballynacargy with the tractor run in aid of the Bryan Pendred fund. "It is a very worthy cause and it's great to see so many tractors, and so many kids out, and I want to thank everyone for coming."
