Planning sought for solar farm in Shandonagh

Planning permission is being sought for a solar energy farm in Shandonagh.

The planning application by Shanonagh PV Ltd includes details for the construction of an electrical substation building, inverter substations and the installation of solar PV panels on a 42 hectare site in the townlands of Parcellstown and Shandonagh.

If given the green light by local planners, the solar farm will be operational for 35 years.

The decision due date for the application is April 7.
