The 'Royal Run to Bun' returns this week

The ‘Royal Run to Bun’ is back this year and will kick off on Friday July 22.

It will see members of the Bunbrosna GAA Club walk or run from Croke Park in Dublin all the way back to the Bunbrosna GAA Club grounds.

The club members will undertake the 104km run/walk relay along the Royal Canal this Friday and aim to cross the finish line on Saturday evening.

This year, the event is to raise money for the club, as well as to celebrate the completion of phase 1 of the club’s development plan and to commence phase 2.

The development will see the installation of a floodlit walking track for the community to exercise safely and it will complete the astro facilities and the playground from phase 1.

Each group of participants will complete allocated sections on the route carrying an official Bunbrosna GAA football with them along the way.

The adult members of the club will start the run/walk at Croke Park on Friday afternoon, while younger members will bring the ball across the finish line on Saturday.

The club are inviting people to the Bunbrosna pitch or to Tormey's Pub after the Royal walk to celebrate the club’s development efforts over the past two years.

The committee are working hard to ensure this event is a family-safe, child-friendly and enjoyable event and are encouraging people to stay up to date with their progress on their social media pages.
