The Downs Ladies GAA Vanity Fair night is a tremendous success

The first Vanity Fair hosted by the Downs Ladies was a great success last Saturday night as huge numbers turned out to see local people displaying local crafts.

After a dark start the electricity was back on time as the Vanity Fair committee met and greeted all customers with a complimentary glass of wine and a gift bag for the first 70 people entering.

There was great interest in the best dressed lady competition and this was evident by the beautiful outfits that all the ladies wore. Mary Gillen was the lucky winner and Mary went away with a Newbridge necklace sponsored by Genesis.

People mingled and chatted as they visited the 30 stalls with crafts, jewellery and cakes on display.

The Downs Ladies Committee would like to thank everybody that contributed in making the vanity fair a tremendous success, all sponsors, the displayers, The Downs GAA, the local people and all the people from neighbouring areas which contributed in making the Vanity Fair a enjoyable and sociable evening.
