Niall named as new owner of Clonmellon house

Singer Niall Horan has been named this week as the purchaser of an impressive country house near Clonmellon.

The four-bed detached house, which stands on a site of eight acres, was sold on March 16 of this year for €420,000 – €25,000 below the asking price of €445,000.

Earlier this year, Niall sold the mansion he owned just outside Mullingar. The asking price for that home, which came with 10 acres of land and a heated outdoor swimming pool, was €775,000.

The Mail on Sunday has identified Niall as the new owner of the Clonmellon property, located around 17 miles from Mullingar.

The ground floor of the property has an open plan country-style kitchen/family room, separate TV room, and a formal sitting room with double doors to an additional reception room. Upstairs has four double bedrooms and a study (which could be a fifth single bedroom) and the family bathroom.

There is also a detached garage with excellent storage and a shower room.

There is a high-end finish to the house, which was built in 2003, and which measures up at a substantial c251 sq.m.

Niall won’t need to trail around electrical shops looking for appliances, as the sale includes the integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher, as well as the range-style cooker.

He won’t be troubled by the sound of traffic either, as the house sits at the end of a 225 metre drive.
