Murder accused remains in custody

The case of Ross O’Rourke, the 28-year-old man charged with the murder of his father, Stefan Nivelles Posschier, was adjourned again today at Mullingar District Court.

Mr O’Rourke, of no fixed abode, is currently in custody at Cloverhill Prison, and appeared before Judge Bernadette Owens by video link this morning. He was represented in court by Ms Andrea Callan, BL.

The court heard that Mr O’Rourke’s file is still under preparation by the Director of Public Prosecutions, and the defendant will remain in custody to appear before the court again on Thursday December 1 (via video link) for the DPP’s directions.

The lifeless body of 65-year-old Mr Posschier, a Belgian-born psychic and healer, was discovered at his home in Rattin, between Kinnegad and Milltownpass, on October 25 last.
