Students in Wilson’s Hospital School covered themselves with distinctions as they received their Junior Cycle results last week. Principal Frank Milling, deputy principal, John Galligan, and TY co-ordinator Olive Whyte congratulated the students at an event organised in their honour in the school Concert Hall.
Mr Milling was pleased with the results, saying that the work of students, their teachers, SNAs and parents had paid dividend. Of note, he said, was the percentage of Distinctions and Higher Merits in Higher Level Irish, Higher Level Maths, Higher Level English, History, Geography, Spanish, Science, Graphics and RE, which were significantly above national averages. Mr. Milling said that the school was exceptionally proud of its students and that Wilson’s stood toe-to-toe with the best schools in the country, surpassing them in places.
This group of students have already commenced their Transition Year Programme in WHS and look forward to an exciting time ahead in an ambitious school with a hugely confident future ahead. Congratulations to them all on their achievements.
