Applications now open for this year's Westmeath Bachelor competition
Calling all single men! Applications are now open for this year's Westmeath Bachelor competition, which takes place in April.
The competition returned to Mullingar last year and two of the star judges then are back this year – Louis Walsh and Anne Doyle.
Two more judges will be joining the team and will be announced soon.
Entries to the Westmeath Bachelor Competition 2023 are open. Applicants of all ages, nationalities and orientations are invited to apply.
Last year, the youngest entrant was 21 and oldest was 62.
The final 13 of Ireland’s most eligible bachelors were whittled down from hundreds of entrants who had to undergo rigorous questions from the celeb judging panel, as well as perform a talent piece.
Talent pieces last year included singing, standup comedy, a traditional brush dance, ventriloquism, cocktail making and more.
In the end, 25-year-old Kerry farmer and musician Bryan Murphy was crowned The Westmeath Bachelor.
Despite the intense competition, the judges were unanimous in their choice of the winner, who won them over with a charismatic personality and captivating performance on the accordion.
He was an equally popular choice with the audience who couldn’t get enough of him!
Along with the title of Westmeath Bachelor, the winner receives an all-inclusive holiday to Ibiza, a new wardrobe and a cash donation to their chosen charity.
The competition final, on Sunday April 30 in Mullingar Arts Centre is part of a three-day music and entertainment festival, which will feature some of the country’s top acts on the main stage.
The festival line-up for 2023 will be announced on January 14.
