McCarthy wins 16th All-Ireland handball title
Outstanding Mullingar and Westmeath handballer, Robbie McCarthy won the Gael Linn Cup at Kingscourt, Cavan, last Sunday, defeating Clare’s Diarmaid Nash with a superb display.
The all-conquering handball star has been in impressive form since the start of the 40x20 season and he carried that into Sunday's final, where he was quite superb.
Sunday's victory was his 16th All-Ireland crown, which is a truly phenomenal achievement. It is his fifth senior singles 40x20 title, while he has won nine 60x30 softball and two 60x30 hardball titles.
