Meet Jackie Collins, Lisa Collins Mathews, and Ruth Collins – directors and owners at the Genesis/Mindy Brownes/Red Earth Group – established over 35 years ago.
Jackie Collins is one of the original founders of the group and has since been managing all operations.
Genesis and Mindy Brownes – primarily a wholesale business which started out in a small studio here in Mullingar now distributes to over 400 stores worldwide.
Closer to home, the brands sell to major retailers like the Selfridges group, the Kilkenny Group, Carraig Donn, Meubles, McElihennys and many more.
Jackie’s main motive for the start of this business was to create a unique Irish bronze giftware brand.
With the art and design led experience came a wealth of knowledge for interiors soon after Mindy Brownes was born, and it is now a leader in all markets for home décor with a world-wide distribution.
Jackie’s passion and entrepreneurial drive led both daughters, Lisa and Ruth, to follow in her footsteps. Lisa is head of creative and buying within the business and Ruth leads all sales and exports.
Lisa and Ruth are inspired daily by Jackie’s hard work ethic, openness to change and diversity within the business, attention to detail – and most of all the ability to juggle work, life and family.
Growing up, Jackie found the correct balance and instilled a strong family bond between everyone involved.
“Considering we all work so close together, including our father Tony we have a great relationship and connection where no disagreement will last more than a few minutes. Jackie has taught us a can do attitude which is so important for for a family run, busy operation with over 80 fantastic staff members,” said Lisa.
What drives Lisa and Ruth is the success of the business in the past and the quick growth and the many areas the group has diversified to, from wholesale to retail and in recent years hospitality – Red Earth.
“The open mindedness to adapt to this ever-changing environment sparks our creativity and we will forever be engaging in new projects we feel passionate about.”
