Livin Dred present "The Good Father"
The Livin Dred theatre company make a triumphant return to the Mullingar Arts centre with a new play "The Good Father". The Good Father is a love story of how two people starting at the end try to reach a new beginning.Tim and Jane are from different sides of the class divide, but after a random meeting at a New Year"s Eve party leads to an unexpected pregnancy, they attempt to form a relationship against all the odds.The play, by Galway-based Christian O"Reilly, is both hilariously funny and poignantly sad, as two people try to reach out to one another and play the hand of cards that they have been dealt.Stars Michael Patric (previously seen as Liam in Livin Dred"s Conversations on a Homecoming) and Gail Fitzpatrick, recently seen in Whistleblower on RTE.Flying the flagAfter their sell-out and highly acclaimed tour with Patrick McCabe"s 'The Dead School', this progressive company, Livin" Dred, from the Ramor theatre in Virginia are certainly flying the flag for the regions with several Irish Times Theatre Awards nominations.Part of the NOMAD Theatre collective, Livin Dred also brought Tom Murphy"s stunning "Conversations on a Homecoming" to Mullingar last year, again to critical acclaim and standing ovations.'The Good Father' is another in their expanding repertoire and directed by the very innovative Pauric McIntyre it is sure to be equally as enthralling as the earlier playsThe play runs for one night only, Saturday, March 28, with tickets priced at €17/14 available from the Arts Centre box office at 044 9347777.
