Camogie Poc Fada proves a success
The Westmeath Camogie board held their Poc Fada competition at the Kilbeggan Racecourse on Wednesday, June 7 and there was keen interest from the clubs in the county.
On the day, there were under 16 and senior competitors and the standard was very high, with some great striking. In the end, county stars Megan Dowdall and Denise McGrath had to settle for the minor honours as Louise O'Connor from Brownstown took the leading prize.
There was also an under 16 competition and the winner here was another Brownstown player in Emily Rennicks. Overall, it proved a great success and thanks to all who participated. Also, many thanks to Westmeath GAA and the Westmeath Camogie Executive for organising and running the event.
