Double Féile success for Raharney

The young hurlers and camogie players from Raharney did their parish and county proud at the weekend by being among the winners at this year's Féile competitions, which were held in Galway and Mayo.

In Caltra in Galway, the Raharney U15 camogie team beat Clonduff after extra time in the final to win the cup. In their weekly notes, the club says that the late Lisa Donoghue Hogan, who was part of the management team, inspired them to victory.

"The girls definitely felt the presence of Lisa in those last few minutes and they believe she definitely helped them find the energy to push on and get over the line and take the cup back to Raharney. We know Lisa would be so proud of these girls and what they have achieved. As a club we couldn't be prouder of these girls and their mentors."

The Raharney U15 boys team were also celebrating on Saturday after they won the Féile Shield. The Shield final was played at the Connacht Center of Excellence in Mayo
