Speaking on behalf of Streete Vintage Club at the annual Streete Vintage Show on Sunday, their chairman Kevin Brady estimated that they had some 10,000 visitors, “the biggest crowd we’ve ever had”.
The large display of vintage cars, tractors and machinery included a fire truck that was used on the day of the 9/11 attacks in the United States, which drew a lot of attention.
Bríd Shaughnessy and Johnny Brady offered the best of country music from the stage, including a jiving competition.
“We are grateful, and very thankful, to everybody who turned up here today, with their cars, tractors and machinery, and other vintage implements, to the people who come to support our show, especially our team, who come here and give their time voluntarily every year,” said Kevin.
“It’s a fantastic achievement here in Streete, in a small rural village, and we’re looking forward to next year already.”
