Local 11-year-old raises €1000 for Irish Cancer Society
Ruby McCabe has raised €1000 for the Irish Cancer Society last year by making and selling loom band creations.
Ruby, who is 11 and lives in Moate, made bracelets, bag charms, and keyrings. She sold them to her family, friends at her school in Castledaly, and even the local football team!
She is “very grateful” to Centra Kilbeggan, who supported her by selling her creations and sponsoring the loom bands.
Her mother Monica said that: “We are very proud of her and it is indeed a great achievement for a young child to be so industrious and want to help a charity that is so close to all of our hearts.”
Well done to Ruby on her fantastic achievement!
