This event is run on part of the old Dublin to Galway Road, from Kilbeggan to Horseleap where it turns left along country roads to Clara before turning left at the outskirts of the Offaly town and the runners have just under 3k to home which includes a 200m grass surface finish area in the grounds of Kilbeggan GAA. On a dry overcast morning the conditions proved ideal for distance running.
Kilbeggan 10-mile race Committee have teamed up with the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) as their charity partner this year again.
The IWA offer services to people with physical and sensory disabilities. In Westmeath and Offaly, they have three Resource Centres, One in Athlone and Mullingar and one in Tullamore.
Funds raised from the kilbeggan 10mile race will go towards the purchase of accessible buses to serve these local Communities.
The winner was Conor Duffy, Glaslough Harriers, while Kieran Nolan, Mullingar Harriers, was home in 32nd place.
