Turn off the alarm!

A burglar alarm at a building near Canal Avenue in Mullingar has been sounding for the last day, much to the annoyance of everyone in the area.

We’ve received a call asking us to put the word out to see if anyone knows who owns the building or has access to it, so the alarm can be switched off and peace can return to the locality.

Among the neighbours there is a HSE facility that houses vulnerable people, and they have not had any sleep, while the staff on night duty had to tolerate the alarm hour after hour.

The council and gardaí have been alerted and are making efforts to find out who owns the building or has keys to it.
