How was your fleadh? Were you busy?

I was busy here, I was working every day, we were coming in and out, it was very busy over the counter. I am here 25 years and I have never seen anything like this before. It was very much the case 'get out and enjoy it'. It would have been busier than a normal week with people coming in from Northern Ireland and other places, to change currency.

Did you get time to enjoy the music and the different sights and sounds?

I definitely did. We went walking around most mornings. We got to go down to Ireland AM when they were here, as our colleague Niamh Penrose was dancing that morning and that was good to see.

How would you compare this year’s fleadh to 2022?

I would say this year was a lot busier crowds-wise. Compared to last year, this street seemed to have a lot more people around and up at the square here it was so busy.

What are your stand-out memories from the fleadh?

My 13-year-old daughter Rachel started the concertina after last year's fleadh, she was on the Gig Rig twice, with Scór Iarmhí on Tuesday night on Sunday with Castletown Geoghegan Comhaltas. Also, my two daughters Rachel and Lauren busked outside the credit union, on the concertina and tin whistle.
