Last Train from Holyhead

A theatre company which spent the Summer of 2008 wowing audiences right around the West of Ireland, is coming to Mullingar this weekend - with promises to do the exact same here.Haw Theatre, from Galway, will be in the Arts Theatre on Saturday night, January 10, with 'Last Train from Holyhead', an intimate, suspenseful, funny, and hugely entertaining play that is more than a little thought provoking, and which will keep audiences on the edge of their seats, as the play stirs the cauldron of human emotion. Two men discover more than they bargained for as they while away the night on a train bound for nowhere. Drink, cards, a beguiling Gypsy prophecy - not to mention comedy and tragedy - pervade this intriguing piece of theatre which examines identity and how seeds sown in the past have a habit of sprouting whether we like it or not.Amongst so much trivia and dross lies a real gem that touches a deep chord and will entertain and amuse any audience. The Galway based company was established in 2008 by a group of artists dedicated to producing theatre encounters that are dramatically compelling, intellectually invigorating and shaped by a desire to present old questions and dilemmas in ever new and relevant ways. The play starts at 8pm and tickets are available at the Arts Centre Box Office at 044 9347777.
