Billy Mac’s Mega Concert
With record numbers in attendance at last year’s Billy Mac Mega Concert in aid of the Carer’s Association, this year’s event is gearing up to be another mega hit!Billy Mac’s concert is now in it’s sixth year and takes place in the Greville Arms Hotel on Tuesday, August 24.As always, the show features some of the greatest names in Irish music, including Ray Lynam, Mick Foster, The Swarbriggs, Ben Dolan and the Dolan Band, Simon Casey, Matt Leavy, Joe O’Hehir, Ollie Kennedy, Moyra Frazer, Abbax, Helen Hassett, the Boys from the Blackstuff, Pascal Brennan, and the Carley Sisters. Vinny Baker’s Tennessee Breakdown Band will supply the music for the night, while John Coroon will act as MC.Tickets are at a recession busting price of just €10 and the main man himself - Billy Mac - says you wont get a better night’s entertainment anywhere else:“This concert has just grown and grown over the years and I think it’s down to the fact that there are so many great names on the line-up. It’s always a great night’s entertainment, and also because it is in aid of such a good cause, people like to help out,” said Billy Mac, who explained that this year the state funding to the Carers’ Association is expected to be cut further. The Carers’ Association is the national organisation for family carers in the home. IT has been in existence since 1987 and offers advice and support to thousands of family carers who look after a person who may be at home because of a severe disability, who is frail in old age or terminally ill. The care is often provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Tickets are on sale now from the Greville Arms Hotel.
