Calling all budding children's writers!
If you've got plenty of imagination, are a born storyteller and have an urge to put pen to paper, this year's Munch Time story writing competition could be your chance to embark on an exciting new career.With â¬1000 and a one-to-one tutorial with Irish children's author, Sarah Webb, up for grabs, entries are being sought by the Munch Bunch yogurt brand from those who love to share stories with three to five-year-olds.The only prerequisites are that the story is inspired by the loveable Munch Bunch character, begins with, Once upon a Munch Time, there was a cow called Munchâ¦,- and is 600-800 words long.The 2012 competition is supported by the Reading Association of Ireland (www.reading.ie) and best-selling author, Sarah Webb, who was on hand to help Munch the Cow launch this year's competition and shares writing tips on the competition site www.munchtimeireland.com. Sarah, author of the 'Ask Amy Green' series, will be one of the judges and is looking for a positive and creative story that will capture the imagination of little ones.Mullingar Montessori teacher, Deirdre Molloy, won the Munch Time 2011 competition with her story Munch on Tour."I've always enjoyed storytelling and as a Montessori teacher, I found that writing my own stories was an engaging way to communicate with my pupils. Since I won the Munch Time Story Writing competition last year, my story, Munch on Tour, has continued to evolve. The children were so delighted with my win that they wanted to hear more about Munch so since the competition, I've continued to write short stories about Munch the Cow and her adventures," said Deirdre.Enter at www.munchtimeireland.com.
