Finea garda station available to community

Finea county councillor Paddy Hill has received confirmation from the Department of Justice that Finea garda station will be made available to a community group that are considered to have a need for the premises.

Following persistent representation by Cllr Hill, the department released application forms which must to be completed and returned outlining the purpose of the venture and the need for it in the area.

Cllr Hill said: “The station is in a great location and would be ideal for a voluntary service that would benefit our community. I am glad the department has finally agreed as the community has really suffered since the closure of our garda station – at least this now gives us the opportunity to utilise the premises.

“If any group or organisation is interested please contact me on 087 6806572 for an application form.”
