"Someone Who"ll Watch Over Me" is a heart-rendingly compassionate, tenderly tragic but also sharply funny play that comes to the Mullingar Arts Centre from January 29 to January 31.Produced by Group X in association with the Mullingar Arts Centre, this Frank McGuinness play is directed by Kerrie Lynsay-O"Reilly from Bunbrosna.Kerrie is a founding member of Group X, which is made up of the first ever graduates from the MA in Directing for Theatre at UCD. She attended Wilson"s Hospital School, Multyfarnham, before travelling to London to study a joint degree in Drama, Film and Television.She has worked in theatre for over eight years and is currently the Head of the Drama Department in The King"s Hospital School in Dublin. Kerrie completed a Masters in Directing for Theatre at UCD two years ago and has since been working with fellow graduates producing shows."Someone Who"ll Watch Over Me" is Kerrie"s professional directorial debut.PlotAn Irishman, an Englishman and an American are being held captive indefinitely in a single cell. With only their instinct to drive them, they utilise all that they have in the hope of surviving their situation, including their differences, intellect, imagination, sense of humour and ultimately their common humanity.Frank McGuinness" characters are said to be realistically imperfect but imbued with so much compassion that it is impossible not to be enthralled by them.The cast includes Steve Cash as Adam, Brian O"Riordan as Edward and John McEvoy as Michael.
