Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Millie
The Mullingar Chamber Awards 2023 in the Mullingar Park Hotel on Friday evening celebrated the local business community and honoured outstanding achievements and contributions.
Mullingar Chamber President, Allyson English, and Minister Peter Burke addressed the gathering, and said the business community plays a vital role in the economic and social fabric of the town; businesses drive economic growth, provide employment, and contribute to the prosperity and wellbeing of the region.
Among the many awards made (see pages 4 and 5 for details) was the Lifetime Achievement/Contribution Award, sponsored by Bevcraft, to Millie Walsh.
Millie was unable to be there on the night, so on Monday, Aisling Coleman, manager of Mullingar Chamber, visited him at his premises, the well-known Maxol garage at the Dublin Bridge, to present his award.
Aisling said: “While there, he took the opportunity to engage with four customers on a topic he was knowledgeable about and offered three of them a car wash. Great multitasking!”
Accepting the award, Millie said: “I would be nothing without my customers, I am so grateful for this award. I love the craic and I love the buzz and it’s a big part of my life. I am lucky to have such good staff, and that’s most important, and lucky to have the Maxol brand behind me.”
