Tornado strikes village during Storm Fergus

There have been reports of a tornado in a village in County Leitrim.

As part of Storm Fergus, what has been described as a freak occurrence hit the village of Leitrim, in the county of the same name, shortly before lunchtime this afternoon.

Online footage shows damage to property, including to roofs, as well as fallen trees and walls.

Emergency services personnel are at the scene.
