Difficult night for punters at Mullingar on Saturday 27th

Last Saturdays programme at Mullingar featured all twelve race finals. The nights action which attracted a good turnout proved difficult for punters where only three favourites emerged victorious from the card.Too far out raced up front in the opening race over the 600 yards but her effort failed as Swans Bog took the lead on the back straight and pulled away to win by three lengths from An Loiste Run in 34.29.Mr Peter Bergins (Rathdowney) Fern Nora won the battle to the opening bend in the second race and thereafter she maintained her front running tactics to win by four lengths form the 5/4 favourite Peggys Angel in 30.50.The third race which was decided over the 400 yards course was won by the N.K.T. Syndicate (Carrick on Shannon) owned Automic Dancer who made all the running to win by three and a half lengths from the always second Enda Chieftain in 22.24.Gambling John registered his first race win from his thirteenth attempt for his Offaly owner P.J. Cleary when he cleared the field at the first bend in the fourth race to score by three lengths from Lisnakill Luca in 30.35.Mr John Dooleys (Kilcock) Ardilaun Ace which was easy to back at 5/1 in the fifth race produced his best form to date when he made practically every yard of the running to win by three and a half lengths from Lowtown Fantasy in 21.98.The Darragh Lynch trained Wannabuyadog although appearing with little chance of success at the half way points in the sixth race produced a strong finish to land the spoils by one length from Lady Albucore in 30.21.Melview Jet which is owned by Michael Powell (Longford) produced a smashing front running effort to win the seventh race over the 400 yards trip with six lengths to spare in 22.14.The Marcella Campbell trained and the Joe Campbell (Mountmellick) owned Home Willow chalked up her second win on the trot with a smashing staying display. A win looked in prospect for Alamo Shockanaw as she turned for home but Home Willow forced up in the dying strides to win by half a length from Upland Cross in 30.73.An Loiste Leim owned in partnership by Mrs M.J. Feehan and Master Josh Bergin (Laois) came late on the scene to win the ninth race by one length from long time leader Mendo in 30.14.Knocknalyre Jack owned by Joe Rigney jnr (Cork) and trained by Tommy Bolton emerged best from the tightly bunched field at the opening bend to win by three and a half lengths from Spellathon in 29.86.Crookedwood trainer Francis Murray sent out his Daemon Eko to win the eleventh race over the 525 yards course always on command. He had a length and a quarter to spare over Boot Room Boy in 30.02.
