Wonderful support for the Goal Mile at Mullingar Shamrocks
There was wonderful support on Christmas morning, as usual, at Mullingar Shamrocks grounds in Springfield for The Goal Mile.
A big crowd of participants, well over 100 people, turned up to complete the mile and raise funds for Goal and there was a festive atmosphere in the club. Brian and Hannah Fagan, and Ruth Illingworth were on hand to represent Goal and take care of the refreshments.
The organisers are very grateful to all those who came out and supported this worthy cause.
Goal teams continue to provide hope to families in the world's poorest communities and in the most dangerous conflicts, delivering food, water and medical support.
Imagine being forced to walk for days to escape conflict and the devastating impact of climate change. This was the reality for millions of families at Christmas, millions of families who are going to bed hungry every night.
In Gaza, Palestinian families are under siege without regular access to food, water and medical care. They are forced from their homes by constant shelling.
In Syria, families have endured 10 years of conflict. They endured another Christmas in temporary shelters, battling freezing temperatures. They are just hoping they'll survive the winter and desperately need help and support.
