Staff not available for signs audit
Westmeath County Council would not have the staff to do an audit of all signs in the county, but would welcome reports of any that need attention, the January meeting of Mullingar/Kinnegad Municipal District heard.
Cllr Bill Collentine had called for a survey of signs. He wanted all redundant signs removed and the rest washed or repaired, if necessary.
District Engineer, Pat Kavanagh, said that if he had the money he would gladly put two people on checking signs. The council does carry out regular maintenance of signs and if there are any brought to their notice they will deal with them.
