Mullingar's lights 'the envy of many other towns'

The committee behind Mullingar's Chrsitmas lights has thanked the wider community for their support.

In a statement released this week, committee member Bill Collentine said:

"A huge thanks and well done to all the businesses and Mullingar community on this year's Christmas lights. The committee, John Cochrane, Nicky Shaw and myself, would like to extend a personal message of thanks to you all for your support and especially mention Mullingar Chamber of Commerce and Westmeath County Council for all their hard work and support.

"The lights were a huge success again this year again and the envy of many other towns.

"This shows what can be done in a strong vibrant town like Mullingar when business owners and street committees work together."
