Taghmon-Turin Community Games back up and running
The Taghmon-Turin Community Games held a local meeting on February 1 to re-establish in the area. After a successful first meeting, the new committee are seeking parent feedback regarding what events children are interested in participating in, by emailing taghmonturincommunitygames@gmail.com.
There is a map detailing which townlands fall into this community games area on Communitygames.ie.
“We look forward to hearing from you,” said a spokesperson for the committee.
Westmeath Community Games chairperson Emily Wallace said she was delighted to have the Taghmon Turin Community Games Area back for local children to participate for 2024.
“It’s been four years since the area could participate, and thank you to Jenny Donlon and the parents of the area coming together to form a new committee.
"There was great enthusiasm and ideas in the room on the night and I wish the new committee, and all involved, every success for the coming year.”
Ms Wallace said that if you have any questions or are living in an area where Community Games is not active, get in contact with Westmeath Community games and they will be happy to call out and guide or help your area get involved for 2024.
