Rosemount Amateur Drama Group back on stage with two-act comedy
Rosemount Amateur Drama Group return to the stage for the first time since 2017, with a two-act comedy called 'Nobody's Talking to Me' set in Ireland of the 1960s.
The cast includes the former Rose of Tralee Rachel Duffy.
The comedy play is from the pen of Irish playwright Tommy Marren, who many people will be familiar with from his hugely popular play, 'It's the Real McCoy' in recent years. The play takes place be in Tuar Ard, Moate from Wednesday, March 13th to Saturday, March 16.
The story revolves around Mattie and Maggie Conway’s 40th wedding anniversary, however, the couple have not spoken a single word to each other in ten years. Disaster strikes when the local parish priest, Fr O’Toole, decides to surprise them by renewing their marriage vows and the family scramble to come up with a plan. Plenty of drama ensues as they fall in and out with each other.
There is a cast of four men and four women, including the 2022 Rose of Tralee Rachel Duffy. The cast all hail from Rosemount and include Helena Keena, Eamonn Duffy, John Keenan, Triona Geoghegan, Rachel Duffy, Cian O'Brien, Aisling Boland and Ciaran Clarke. The director is Moate woman Jackie Madden.
