Loman’s Lions indoor sessions swap football for disco ball

The Loman’s Lions indoor sessions came to a fun-filled conclusion on Tuesday evening of last week when the footballs were set aside and replaced by disco balls for a mini disco that was the talk of the local playgrounds.

It was an evening of fun, smiles and laughter as the music was turned up and the little ones showed off their best moves on the dance floor. And boy can they dance!

To add to the excitement, the Flanagan Cup was brought in by the club’s senior players and the kids got the opportunity to have pictures taken with the most coveted prize in Westmeath sport.

The Lions initiative – aimed at kids attending preschool and junior infants – ran for six weeks at the Loreto College gym, and the huge numbers attending each week highlighted how well organised and enjoyable it was for all the little boys and girls.

The Lions resume outdoors on Saturdays at 11am in Lakepoint Park and new players and families are always welcome. It’s a fun way of introducing young players to GAA.
