Rural Arts Network night
The committee of Westmeath Rural Arts Network - which was behind the recent culture night in Ballynacargy - is delighted with how the event went.Held at the Hazel Gallery, the night featured a presentation by artist Patricia Baines on her artwork; there was music from violinst Avril Walsh and harpist Marie Therese Nally, while the beautiful voice of singer Denise Fulham completed a wonderful lineup and added greatly to the evening.Culture night celebrations continued then at Murtagh’s pub where many local musicians, storytellers and singers entertained the large crowd of supporter, including Bartle Garry who brought along all his fellow musicians; Patsy Jordon for her beautiful singing; Johnny McManus and Pat Heduan for their entertaining storytelling. This great night proved that culture is indeed alive and well in Ballynacargy and the surrounding areas.
