Local family resource centre receives huge funding boost
Cara Phort Family Resource Centre’s annual funding is to increase by nearly €50,000.
The Ballynacargy-based centre received confirmation yesterday, Monday, that its annual funding has been increased to a minimum of €160,000, a rise of €48,068.
The news has been welcomed by Deputy Robert Troy, who says that additional funding will enable Cara Phort to maintain the high level of service it provides to the people of Ballynacargy.
“I am delighted to receive confirmation from Minister O’Gorman this morning of the much needed increase in funding for Cara Phort.
“I have been engaging with management at the resource centre over a number of months in terms of the need for additional funding to maintain the level of service they provide.
“The assistance provided by the resource centre in Ballynacargy cannot be over-estimated and I know that this increase in funding will be hugely beneficial to many families who avail of their services. This allocation will combat the increased costs some FRCs have faced and aid in expanding service provision.”
