Officials preparing application for sports complex funding
It is all systems go at Westmeath County Council as they proceed with plans and designs for the regional sports complex at Robinstown, Mullingar, in the hope of securing funds.
Council officials have met 44 representatives of clubs and sports governing bodies to assess what is needed in the complex, and are preparing their application for the next round of Large Scale Sports Infrastructure funding, due in on July 1.
The monthly meeting of the council heard that 600 public submissions were made under the sports need assessment process. Work on the preliminary design is under way, being informed by the public consultation.
