Glynn puts focus on housing and transport
Senior elected representative from Fianna Fáil were present for the launch of Cllr Ken Glynn’s local election campaign at Caffrey’s, Mullingar, on Tuesday night.
The large gathering was addressed by Robert Troy, TD, European election candidate Barry Cowen, TD, and special quest Minister Michael McGrath, as well as Cllr Glynn.
Cllr Glynn told the gathering that among his priorities was the provision of more social and affordable housing, improved public transport – including a new town bus service – and increased rail carriages a priority.
He said: “The reopening of Mullingar to Athlone is something that must happen” he said, and he also vowed to push for a resolution to the traffic problems in Mullingar.
“The growing need for additional services to serve the increasing level of new builds is evident,” said Cllr Glynn, “and a new secondary school is required to meet the growing demand.”
