It"s the same old story as rain turns to ice
After the weeks, of miserable continuous rain, the weather changed to nice crispy frost over the week end; however the ice affected greens were not playable until after the thaw too late in the day. There was some competitive golf during the week, - four person team, turkeys and winter league, but alas nothing over the week end.The incoming ladies" and gents" committees are however, currently busy putting in place their programmes of events for 2009 and at the same time crossing their fingers for better weather conditions than we had for the past couple of seasons.Club Annual General meeting this Sunday afternoonThe annual general meeting of the club (committee of management) takes place on Sunday afternoon next at four o"clock and it is anticipated that there will be the usual good turn out of members as there is a full agenda of interest to everyone in the club, as we reflect on the successful year just finishing despite the inclemency of the weather and look forward to the future with more than optimism.Men"s seniors" golfIt"s all go at the moment as the seniors take advantage of the weather windows that have presented themselves over the past couple of weeks for a change. Hampers are the attraction currently with plenty of. seasonal fare on offerParty nightMembers are asked to leave Friday, December 12 free for a party night with live music and, if you"re good, a visit from Santa who is calling earlier in the evening to visit the members" and guests" children.
