Gardaí seek info on €70,000 Delvin theft
Approximately €70,000 worth of items were stolen from a rural home in Delvin last week.
The theft occurred at Rosemead on Friday, July 12, between 6pm and 7 pm.
Gardaí were alerted after the homeowners returned to find their house “ransacked.”
Gardaí are seeking information from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area that day.
They urge witnesses to contact the detective unit at Mullingar Garda Station.
In the same week, there were four additional burglaries in the area. On July 11, €1,000 worth of items were stolen from a rural home in Killucan between 8 pm and midnight.
On July 13, €300 in cash was taken from a home on the Athlone Road outside Mullingar, and entry was gained to a house in Castlepollard, though nothing of value was stolen.
On July 15, items valued at €5,000 were taken from a farm in The Downs.
Gardaí are asking rural residents to remain vigilant, ensure their home security is robust and report any suspicious behaviour.
